Wow, you guys, I don’t know what to say; it’s like I don’t even live here anymore. I have moved on, sort of, but not in a oh fine you can just take your stupid blog and go screw yourself kind of way. It’s more like a hiatus or a sabbatical or whatever. I’d been spending a lot of time away from here on tumblr anyway, but I’m on break from there too. I started to develop a sort of tumblr obsession and I felt like the summertime was passing me by. I’m not back from sabbatical or done with my internet vaca, but I did want to post this while I’m recovering from today’s company picnic.
Longtime readers of Blog, Sweet Blog (not that there are any longtime readers) may recall last year’s post about the annual company picnic. We had this year’s picnic today, and it was a lot of fun, but way hot, like usual. As in the previous year, I sent out another company-wide email inviting people to come play croquet after lunch and I have reproduced it below for your viewing pleasure…
My fellow picnickers,
As usual, we’re going to be partying-down, Croquet style, at today’s company picnic. If you are reading this email, you are cordially invited to join your ITS Picnic friends for a stimulating round of one of America’s “oldest” lawn games…that’s played with wooden balls…and long hammer things…that isn’t polo. As always, Croquet supplies are limited, so hurry over if you’re interested.
What: A sweet round of Croquet
When: The company picnic, before and after food…possibly during
Where: That one grassy spot, over there by the tree
If some of you are unfamiliar with Croquet or how to spot a game in progress, please enjoy the following visual aids.
Hope that helps!
Warmest regards, sincerely,
The ILS(C)S staff
p.s. Not sure how to play? Do you like rules? Click here!
Hilarious, no? Whatever, I like sending them out and playing croquet at the company picnic and no one ever yells at me for it, so whatever. If the price of a sweet round of company picnic croquet is being known as “the weird chick who sends out the funny, unsolicited croquet email invitations”, then so be it, I’ll pay.
So yeah, not back from vaca yet but it won’t be much, much longer. Who knows, I might even post some of the “best of” from mah tumblr in the meantime.
I hope you’re enjoying your summer (in the Northern Hemisphere, anyway), you guys! And remember, I love you, etc.

Glad to hear of your awesome summer. I’ve tried croquet but those lil hedgehogs never want to cooperate. At least they squeal less than in golf.
